Where to Buy LINDBERG Glasses in Oregon

LINDBERG doesn't sell to everyone.

If you've gone looking for LINDBERG in Oregon, you've probably already discovered this. The Danish company keeps its dealer network deliberately narrow — a small number of authorized opticians per region, no online direct-to-consumer, no big-box. For a long stretch of the state, the closest authorized dealer was in Portland.

Eyes On Wall is the Bend dealer.

That's the short answer. If you've been driving over the Cascades from Central Oregon to find LINDBERG, you no longer need to. We carry the Air-Titanium line and several of the more recent collections, and we're set up to fit them properly — which matters more for LINDBERG than for almost any other brand on the wall.

This is the long answer.

Why the dealer network is small

LINDBERG's frames are not normal eyewear. The Air-Titanium line — the brand's foundational work since 1969 — is built without screws, hinges in the conventional sense, or welded joints. The temples are bent from a single titanium wire and held by tension. Each frame is fitted to a specific face. The sizing system is granular: bridge widths in millimeters, temple lengths in millimeters, rim sizes in millimeters, and the sizing combinations that don't work get rejected at the design stage.

This means a LINDBERG frame doesn't fit "people with round faces" or "people with narrow noses". It fits you. The dealer's job is to take a measurement and order the right combination of components — sometimes from inventory, sometimes from Denmark.

If a dealer doesn't take that work seriously, the frame won't sit right and the wearer will hate the experience. So LINDBERG limits authorization to opticians who do.

A LINDBERG frame ordered without a real fitting is the wrong frame for a particular face that just happens to share the same model number.

That's the philosophy. It's also why the network is small.

What we carry

We don't carry the full LINDBERG catalog — no single dealer does. The line is too deep. What we keep on the wall is a working selection across three of the major collections:

• Air-Titanium Rim — the rimmed wire-frame line that started everything. Built around tension and modular components. Lightest LINDBERG on the wall.
• Air-Titanium Strip — the rimless variant. The lens floats; the temples are essentially invisible from a distance. For someone who wants the frame to vanish.
• N.O.W. — the more recent acetate-and-titanium hybrid line. Heavier, warmer, with more visual presence. For someone who wants the LINDBERG craft but a frame that reads as a frame.

Other lines — Horn, Precious, Spirit Titanium — we order in for fittings. If you're coming in for one of those specifically, it's worth a call ahead.

What to expect at a fitting

Plan for a real appointment. A LINDBERG fitting takes longer than a rack-and-grab — usually thirty to forty-five minutes the first time. We measure bridge width, pupil distance, temple length, and a few other things. We try several combinations. If we don't have the right one in the boutique, we order it from Copenhagen. Turnaround is usually under three weeks.

We don't rush this. LINDBERG frames are not impulse purchases — the price reflects the work, and the fit reflects the price. Done correctly, you'll wear them for ten or fifteen years and forget what they cost a long time before they wear out.

For completeness: the Portland-area dealer is Bethany Optical in Bethany Village. They've been doing LINDBERG for years and do it well. If you're in the metro and Bend is the long drive, they're the right call.
